Hurry, Hurry!

After taking a short break from the harvesting to tidy up the processing messes and put away the food, we enjoyed a fun visit from our Aunts and a few friends yesterday. It was a nice break, but this morning the air is frosty cold and smells like snow. The farm chore crew is coming in with red noses and fingers, declaring of winters frigid cold breath breathing down their jacket collars. It's only ten o'clock this morning and already the harvesting is heavily underway, with the boys on potatoes, zucchini and tomatoes, the girls on beans, melons, and pumpkins, the younger kids on rhubarb and myself on another batch of kimchi. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad are off picking up our first few hundred pounds of bear fat to process already. Yea, its that time of year already! On top of everything else: Bear Fat... wow.

We have a frost possible tomorrow and the next night, with tons of stuff still out in the garden. I'm off to get the kitchen prepared for the incoming... everything! :)

Alas, the seasons won't wait on us, so it's hurry, hurry! :)
